Camp Wokanda   February 2, 2008

The Camp Wokanda event was very challenging with the 6” of freshly fallen snow. The idyllic images the day’s orienteers were able to enjoy were beautiful. But about the time they got too captivated by it all, a step on an ice covered tree limb, lying obscured on the ground by the blanket of snow quickly brought them back to reality.

There was some great orienteering. We didn’t think anyone would find all 19 controls on the Score-O course within the 2 hour time limit – Scott Frederickson proved us seriously wrong.

Sadly, we also learned the “Flying Dutchmen” will be moving to Kazakhstan. We hate to think the kids will be growing up out of our sight but are thankful for the times we have been able to share while you were. IRVOC will not be the same without you Tako, Sabine, Femke, & Jelte! Best wishes and good luck to each of you.
